The flats
Beautiful run into the flats by my new route. After the snow went away (when a minor chinook blew in late yesterday) and 48 hours with the temperature in the 20s and 30s, it's 49 right now. Weird.
The run was great. I was able to stay on the pavement all the way except for the little trail (ground is wet from the snow), and could have gone quite a bit farther. The beauty of this run, besides being in the country, is that the mileage can be set very clearly by just turning around and going back.
Today I saw one of the rough-legged hawks, and it was hovering again overhead, silhouetted against a nice pastel pre-sunrise sky. Spectacular. The wind's probably about 20 mph. Then, as I got back close to "civilization," saw one mule deer hanging around the construction yard.
Otherwise uneventful. Felt very good. Have a physical today. Big whoop.
