Feeling guilty

I don't despair of my exercise, what with almost daily shoveling of walks, etc., but I do marvel at the steady upward movement on the counter on my blog — I can only assume that you, my three regular readers, check in whether I've posted anything or not.

That makes me feel guilty, because I'm not keeping up my end of the ... bargain? Anyway, the weather continues abominable, work is oppressive because of furloughs and illnesses (I've gone to work at my usual 7 or 7:30 a.m. every day this week, and wound up working an early night shift to boot to fill in for the absence of a "night reader" at the paper, which means two 12-13-hour shifts out of three shifts since returning from my own unpaid furlough.).

I'm not running, not because of the weather (it's not ridiculous, just extreme right now — highs in the teens or 20s and lows around zed), but because of the foot ailment I mentioned in my last post. Fortunately, I'm seeing a doc tomorrow about that and we'll see, as sister-in-law Joan says, is the sitch.

For your entertainment in my running absence — it's painful, I know — let me direct you to what is quite possibly the best blog on the entire World Wide Web, which you can find right here.

In addition to Allie's wonderful stories, I highly recommend the "Awesome Button" on the right side of her posts. It's not an inaccurate name. The last one I clicked on was "Super-useless Superpowers" and it was an absolute hoot.

Enjoy; I'll report on what the doc says.
