Hiatus (and smoke) over

Unbelievably clear out, and cool and sunny. Today I went back to the Baldy Mountain road and ran just to the upper gate and back. Felt good, but it was chilly — upper 40s and breezy. This is the view from the road out across the Lincoln valley, to the northwest.

This is a cool rock that I'd never noticed before, a mile or so above the parking place. And even here I didn't see it until the return trip.

This gulch and old road — mostly impassable now, and steep — is near the turnaround spot today.

A couple of guys in an old pickup (similar to my own, in fact) with chainsaws in the back passed me on the way up. Otherwise I owned the area.
