Game day run

The Nebraska-Northwestern game kicks off at 11 a.m. today in Lincoln, and the tailgaters were already getting set up near the stadium when I ran by a little after 7.

The athletic department offices are lit in red beneath the south stands, where my dad had his seats for decades. Parking attendants and police were swarming all open areas within a mile of the stadium four hours before kickoff.

All programs have these stupid trucks now to carry their equipment. Even Montana has one! This was parked at the southwestern corner of the stadium.

It was a beautiful morning, temp in the 50s and the breeze dying down. Gonna be a good day for football.

Food vendors, too, were already setting up. These are just south of the west stadium in an extremely high pre- and post-game traffic area.

The old columns, which have stood here for a century, are about to be joined by a new athletic hall of fame. Oh goodie!
