Meanwhile around Minnesota

Wow. Paul Bunyan has shrunk since I visited here 45-odd years ago, maybe more. Bemidji, on the other hand, seems to be thriving, and boy are the people there friendly!

We spent a while at the woolen mill store and it hasn't changed. I figured out that my modest but fairly complete collection of beautiful BWM clothing (coats, pants, shirts and a giant Hudson's Bay blanket) is worth more than $1,300 in modern retail prices.

On our way up there, we stopped at Ithasca State Park, the headwaters of the Mississippi River. This is my friend Lisa and me in her first selfie!

This is more or less the same view without our faces in it.

We ate lunch at a wonderful cafe called "Minnesota Nice." It was a good name and the food was fantastic.
