Inching farther


This is near my turnaround today. I ventured onto the second stretch of snow on the road, far enough that Baldy Mountain (background) is coming into clearer view.

It was a colder morning — 22 when I shot this out my dining room window:



And this is approaching the Disappearing Creek drainage that I've photographed several times in the past week. The dusting of snow was still up there even when I ran later in the morning — around 10:30 to 11:30 — and the snowbanks had a coating of about an inch of new stuff.


This is at the end of the first snowbank you hit going up the Humbug Contour Road, and as you approach onto the clearing that is a great scenic overlook.


And this is the view from that overlook, across the Lincoln (Blackfoot) Valley.
